Napoleon III-era tripod side table made of patinated and painted veneered wood.
The top is adorned with a painted design divided into four cartouches depicting scenes from the 1608 work “Amorum Emblemata” by Otto van Veen (see photos No. 11 and No. 12).
These scenes are separated by columns with palm-shaped capitals inspired by Egyptian design.
In the center, a medallion depicting Cupid completes the tabletop’s decoration.
The base is decorated with a garland of flowers and silhouettes of Isis, the goddess of Ancient Egypt.
The pedestal table rests on three ball-shaped legs.
