Joseph Darche, painter born in Lyon in 1846 and died in 1906.
He worked for two or three years with J. Chatigny (1834 – 1886) and debuted at the Lyon Salon, in 1877, with a Portrait. He exhibited portraits, figures, still lifes and landscapes (paintings, watercolors, charcoals) in Lyon until 1904. He had won, in 1898, a third medal, with L’aurore and Au bord de la rivière d’Ain.
