Portrait of a man in profile wearing an earring.
Earrings were commonly worn by sailors since antiquity. However, some attributed acupuncture virtues to them in order to improve vision.
Handwritten inscription on the back indicating that it is “Mr. Guerre, grandfather of Charles Guerre”.
