Guignol is the main character of the theater bearing his name. Dressed, in the Lyon tradition, in a frock coat and bow tie, he is immediately identifiable by his facial features, which, according to legend, are those of Laurent Mourguet : a mischievous smile, dimples, and dark eyes. All this is topped with a bicorn hat with folded brims, revealing a small braid of hair (a “sarsifi,” in the Lyon dialect).
